Ishraque informs US diplomat about election atmosphere ahead of city polls

Shawdesh Desk: BNP nominated mayoral candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Ishraque Hossain has met US diplomat ahead of the day of the city corporation elections in Dhaka.

The mayoral candidate met with political consular of the US Embassy on Friday in order to give his opinion on overall situation of the city elections.

The meeting was held at Gulshan’s Bay Tower in the city. The meeting began at 12:00pm and ended at 12:35pm.
Ishraque Hossain said, “The US diplomat asked him that what apprehension is prevailing centring the Dhaka City Corporation elections. I have informed him about the real scenario.”

Mentioning that there are some 350 to 400 vote centres risky in the capital, Ishraque said “The activists and workers of the symbol of ‘paddy sheaf’ will guard those centres. The centres will be freed at any cost, if those are occupied.”
